Wicomico County Recreation, Parks & Tourism hosts a variety of special events throughout the year, from signature festivals drawing thousands like Pork in the Park to traditional events continued annually such as the Fishing Derby – Wicomico Recreation, Parks & Tourism Department works together to make these events a success. Current Programs and News

Girls Softball

Swing batter batter swing! The Junior Girls Softball League offers four different leagues for girl’s ages 8 to 18 years old. This is a recreational league where focus is on teaching and learning softball skills, player participation, being a part of a team and sportsmanship. Girls of all skill levels and experience are invited to join in the tradition. Games are played twice a week (two week nights) with an occasionally Saturday game. Youth Volleyball for Girls and Boys

Two programs are offered, allowing instructional time and play for children from 1st grade through high school to learn the game of volleyball. Co-Ed Scholastic Volleyball begins in early December with 3 sessions available and Co-Ed Junior offers 3 divisions for players beginning in January. Read More

Chess Tournament

Castling! Crowning! It's the Wicomico County Recreation & Parks Chess Tournament. Mark you calendars for Saturday, February 4th at the Wicomico Youth & Civic Center's DaNang Rooms.
