Volunteer OpportunitiesWicomico County Recreation, Parks & Tourism is always looking for enthusiastic, energetic volunteers to assist as coaches, program leaders, special event helpers, environmental education assistants, and other various roles. Each year, community members dedicate over 4,000 hours of time to Wicomico Recreation, Parks & Tourism. These hours are spent assisting with individual Recreation & Parks programs, serving on Recreation Councils, or bringing together one of our signature events such as The Good Beer Festival or the Pork in the Park festival. Swing batter batter swing! The Junior Girls Softball League offers four different leagues for girl’s ages 8 to 18 years old. This is a recreational league where focus is on teaching and learning softball skills, player participation, being a part of a team and sportsmanship. Girls of all skill levels and experience are invited to join in the tradition. Games are played twice a week (two week nights) with an occasionally Saturday game. Two programs are offered, allowing instructional time and play for children from 1st grade through high school to learn the game of volleyball. Co-Ed Scholastic Volleyball begins in early December with 3 sessions available and Co-Ed Junior offers 3 divisions for players beginning in January. Read More
