If you do not wish for you or your child's photograph to be used, please contact the Department at 410-548-4900. Cancellations & RainoutsWhen weather related emergencies are declared in Wicomico County and schools are closed, no programs will be held. Every effort will be made to make announcements on the local radio and television stations regarding evening and weekend activities. You can hear a recorded listing of current program cancellations due to inclement weather by dialing our cancellation line at 410-548-4900 ext. 5. Visit WMDT.com or WBOC.com for closings. Child Pick-upArrive to pick up your child five minutes before the program's scheduled closing. Failure to pick up your child on time may result in additional fees for lateness (if applicable) or in his or her removal from the program. Special NeedsThe Department is committed to providing accessibility for individuals with special needs and strives to provide equal, integrated participation in all programs, activities, and services. We welcome the questions, comments and concerns of parents and interested community members regarding accommodating special needs. If you or your child has a special need, please indicate it on the registration form. Refund PolicyThe request for a refund due to withdrawal from a program or lease arrangement must be made in writing to the Department and must be received no later than one week prior to the first day of any activity (three weeks for pavilion rentals). All refunds granted are subject to a 10% fee for processing. Request for refunds received later than the established deadline will not be honored. Approved refunds will be sent to the registrant within 30 days from the date of approval. Eligibility and FeesWicomico County recreation programs are open to both residents and non-residents. The eligibility policy will be reviewed annually with consideration given to the availability of facilities, quality of the programs being offered, and the administrative effort required to organize the programs. Swing batter batter swing! The Junior Girls Softball League offers four different leagues for girl’s ages 8 to 18 years old. This is a recreational league where focus is on teaching and learning softball skills, player participation, being a part of a team and sportsmanship. Girls of all skill levels and experience are invited to join in the tradition. Games are played twice a week (two week nights) with an occasionally Saturday game. Two programs are offered, allowing instructional time and play for children from 1st grade through high school to learn the game of volleyball. Co-Ed Scholastic Volleyball begins in early December with 3 sessions available and Co-Ed Junior offers 3 divisions for players beginning in January. Read More
